This excellent red blend – one of the best value Okanagan reds out there – extends the value-priced portfolio of this winery, where nothing is above $20. Even the icewine comes in under that price because it is released in a 375 ml bottle. As with all the Prospect wines, the label is tied to an Okanagan reference, in this instance, the first Kelowna Regatta in 1911.
This is an appealing wine with ripe berry aromas and flavours – plum, cherry, blackberry. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes through with a slight hint of bell pepper, appropriate to the varietal. The long, ripe tannins give the wine a full texture. The finish, with a hint of chocolate, lingers. A very good wine, especially at the price
