Venturi-Schulze Vineyards is one of the Cowichan Valley’s premier boutique wineries, making a range of top quality products from sparkling wines to Pinot Noir to superior balsamic vinegar. Historically, the wines have been priced to reflect the intensive viticulture and detailed winemaking behind the high quality products. However, Bianco di Collina – Italian for white wine of the hillside – is a new wine from Venturi-Schulze at a popular price that should appeal both to consumers and to the winery’s restaurant clients.
If Giordano Venturi and Marilyn Schulze cut any corners to make this bargain, it sure does not show up in the aromas and flavours. This is a refreshingly crisp, dry white with appealing herbal and spicy aromas and with tangy flavours of green apples and honey dew melons. This delightful wine is as fresh and appealing as a country morning in spring. 88
