Voga is a moderately-priced Italian brand that has made waves in wine stores around the world by using sexy bottles that look like high-end perfume bottles. Currently, British Columbia’s Liquor Distribution Branch has in stock about 3,400 bottles of Pinot Grigio table wine ($15) and about 2,700 bottles of Quattro, a red blend ($16). The sparkling wine is a more recent listing and only 750 bottles are in stock.

As always with Voga, the package is gorgeous. This of a small version of the CN Tower on your table, an eye-catching bottle with an elegantly silk-screened label. It is a guaranteed conversation piece. My guests immediately spoke of its possibilities as a vase.

Inside the bottle is a Charmat-fermented bubbly, light gold in color with a fruity aroma. The texture is creamy; the flavours are pleasantly fruity. People who get heartburn from acidic sparkling wine will appreciate the soft acidity of this wine. The price is a touch aggressive. The justification presumably is the award-winning design of the package.
