The judges at the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival awarded a silver medal to this wine. I would have argued for gold. It would be hard to find a better Okanagan Syrah from the 2006 vintage. It is still available in the VQA stores. You should rush out and pick up a few bottles, especially this cold winter. This is a generous wine that will warm you up after you have shovelled that driveway for the umpteenth time.
It starts with a dark, brooding colour and with the aroma of peppered cherries. On the palate, this meaty wine delivers more pepper, along with plum, tobacco and leather. The tannins are ripe and chewy. There is a lingering finish with a pleasant note of liquorice. This is a delicious wine. 90
