See Ya Later Ranch was formerly called Hawthorne Mountain Vineyards. The SYL label was created for a line of premium wines. It has apparently been decided that all the wines here can be premium quality and the Hawthorne Mountain name and labels have been dropped.
This is certainly a premium quality Chardonnay, a wine that over delivers at its $20 price. It begins with aromas of buttery toast and citrus, suggesting that some and perhaps all of the wine has been barrel-fermented. Certainly, the oak is very well integrated with the tropical fruit flavours. The texture is as rich as a good Napa Chardonnay but it has the British Columbia fingerprint – tangy acidity that gives the wine a bright, lingering and refreshing finish. 89
